Load balancing

Load balancing

op5 Monitor support load balanced setup that allows the monitoring servers to share the workload in order to ensure that no single server is under- or over utilized. Load balancing is very effective when it comes down to preventing failures that occur when a system’s activity levels are continuously high.

The load balanced solution have two or more peers in the same environment sharing the same tasks (the hosts to monitor). Any new configuration made on any of the peers is distributed to the other peers. The peers divides the load automatically and keep tracks of when one peer go down, the other(s) take over the job.

Automatic failover

If one remote server (poller) fails, op5 Monitor automatically transfers the workload to another, minimizing the interruption of critical system availability. Automatic failover can be used on both psychical and virtual servers/pollers.
