Important security fix available for op5 Monitor

Friday, 07 November 2008 17:51
Recently a couple of security issues was found in Nagios, the foundation for op5 Monitor. We have released a bug fixed version - op5 Monitor 4.0.1.

Users running op5 Monitor 4.0.0 can upgrade using the YUM Update Manager or by downloading the release from the downloads-section. Users running previous versions can only upgrade using the installer/upgrader from the downloads-section.

!Please be sure to pick the right download. If you are running an appliance-server from op5 you should use the installer labeled "for op5 Appliance". If you are running on some other hardware using RHEL5 or CentOS 5 use the installer labeled "for centos/redhat". To verify if you are running op5 Appliance (op5 System) run the command "rpm -q op5-default-appliance". If that package is installed you are running op5 Appliance.

All versions of Nagios are affected, Nagios 3.x more severily than Nagios 2.x. Nagios 2.x is used in op5 Monitor 3.x, Nagios 3 is used in op5 Monitor 4.

We strongly recommend all users to update.

Detailed info on the security issues is available on the nagios-devel maling list.
