Product: op5 Monitor Release Number: 5.7.0 Release Date: June 7 2012 Release Type: Minor Release Previous Release: 5.6
Introduction
This document contains release notes for op5 Monitor 5.7.0. The document is intended to give brief information about the new release. It is directed towards staff responsible for managing op5 products.
What’s new
HTTP API (REST)
The main focus for Monitor 5.7 is to deliver a HTTP API and we have prioritized configuration and status data since this is what our customers seem to be wanting most of all (and in that order).
Add scheduled downtime retrospectively
Add scheduled downtime retrospectively can be useful when you had a service window but forgot to set your hosts in scheduled downtime before you took them down for maintenance, thus ruining your availability report.
Custom variables in GUI and HTTP API
Nagios has support for something called custom variables which basically is any nagios configuration variable starting with an underscore. This can be useful in a lot of cases as was described in the roadmap presentations during our Inspiration Days. This has been possible to do for quite some time but probably hasn’t been used much (since we haven’t had GUI support for adding them ;-)
Starting with op5 Monitor 5.7, it is possible both from the web GUI (nacoma) and through the HTTP API.
