AFA Insurances is a large contractual insurance company that had problems in monitoring their IT infrastructure. Their previous monitoring solution required an enormous amount of time and resources. After much frustration, many complications, and long hours of wasted consultations, it was time to try something new. Today there is an unit within AFA Insurance’s IT department equipped with visual displays, where graphs show how the infrastructure is performing. It is easy to see what is going on, with a good overview of how all the systems are functioning. The engineer on duty will be instantly notified if something goes wrong outside of working hours, and can take direct action to prevent the serious consequences that might have resulted if the error had gone undetected until the following morning.

When the morning technician arrives at work, he or she can directly check to see if there is anything requiring attention. In this way, AFA Insurance has moved away from manual monitoring and op5 Monitor now manages the surveillance automatically. All that is required is to look at op5 Monitor to see if everything is green or red.
